Hannah Murphy

Tech correspondent

Hannah Murphy is a tech reporter at the Financial Times on the social media beat writing about Meta, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube, based out of San Francisco. She also helps cover crypto - particularly the crossover between fintech and social - and cybersecurity.

On top of writing for the paper and magazine, Hannah regularly moderate panels for FT Live and at other conferences and c-suite events. She has also appeared on live slots and documentaries with national broadcasters such as the BBC and Channel 4.

Before moving to California, she covered financial services including online trading, stockbroking and market structure from the FT's London office, as did a stint as a data journalist on the world news desk. She won the MHP 30 under 30 To Watch: Young Journalists of the year award in 2018.
